Entourage vX sync problem with Treo 600 (Palm OS 5.2.1)

Bug

Hello... I hope someone can help.

I'm trying to sync my Handspring Treo (running Palm OS 5.2.1) to my
Entourage vX (v10.1.4), via my Macintosh ibook 800 (dual USB) running
10.2.8 in 640 MB RAM.

I have previously had no difficulties syncing a Handspring Visor Prism.

With my (new!) Treo 600, I can only sync the Calendar (what used to be
known as Datebook on earlier versions of the Palm OS). My Memos,
Contacts and To Do List doesn't get transferred. Yes, the conduit is set
to synchronise everything. Yes, I have reinstalled the latest version of
HotSync Mngr (V3.1). Yes I have reinstalled the MS HandHeld Sync (for
10.1.4). Watching my Treo's display during a Hotsync, the process
simply doesn't dwell on the unsync'd (!) elements long enough,
although the hotsync log on both devices simply says 'ok' for each sync
element.

Please, please, please - can anyone help? I fear I'm between a rock and
a hardplace - Handspring say the Entourage conduit is a third party
application for which they will take no responsibility, and I just know
that MS is going to blame the version of Palm OS on the Treo!

many thanks in anticipation.

Bug

Hopefully my experience may help someone else.

As I had existing data from my original Handspring Visor Prism, I
performed a Sync (not an 'entourage replaces...' or vice-versa). My
Orange version of the Treo 600 had no factory installed calendar
details, but did have entries in the phone book, To Do List and Memo
Pad. For some reason (unknown to me), I believe these entries
prevented successful synchronisation of my existing Entourage data
(note however that the content of the Treo did come over to
Entourage).

Out of sheer frustration I performed an 'Entourage replaces...' hotsync
for Memo Pad, To Do List and Contacts, after which my Treo contains
all my Entourage data - including that which was factory installed by
Orange.

Why this happened, and whether I can successfully update the Treo
with new Entourage data by synchronisation rather than overwriting
remains to be seen!
