entourage will not open at all

Version: 2008 Email Client: pop For the past 2 days, every time i try to open entourage to access my e-mail, i get an error message that says "microsoft has encountered a problem and needs to shut down. we are sorry for any inconvenience."

word, excel, and powerpoint open with no problems. re-installed office 2008 with my disc-that has not helped.

Hold down the Shift key when launching Entourage and see if that helps. This
disables schedules. If Entourage is choking on trying to upload/download
this could be the cause. Look in the Outbox and move the messages out.

If that fails, move your Main Identity to the desktop and see if Entourage
will open in a new Identity. Let me know what your tests show.

This is the same thing that is happening to me after I upgraded to 12.2.4. I have tried the 'Shift' option and it does nothing!
