Entourage will not start

I recently had my hard drive crash, and had to reinstall Office:mac on a new hard drive. All programs work except Entourage. When I try to start it, it gives me a message that "This identity cannot be opened with this version of Entourage." and shuts down. Therefore, I cannot even try to upgrade anything.

gives me a message that "This identity cannot be opened with this version of
Entourage." and shuts down. Therefore, I cannot even try to upgrade anything.

"This Identity Cannot Be Opened With This Version of Entourage"
This message usually means, for example, any Identity saved with a 12.1.0 or
later version will not open in 12.0.0 or 12.0.1. Since there was a database
format change in 12.1.0 (SP1), Entourage 12.0.0 or 12.0.1 cannot open a
database saved in the later version.

Once you upgrade, the Identity will open.

No Office application can be open when you upgrade. I suggest launching
Update under the Help menu, then select to keep in Dock. Log out/in with
Shift key down to disable all startup items. Select AutoUpdate from the Dock
and download the updater. Restart your computer between each updates. Be
sure all applications are quit each time. Currently there are only two
updaters.

SP1 12.1.0 and 12.1.5. Both are combos. (newer DVDs already come with
12.1.0)

Note that the update application can be launched from within ANY Office
application. If you can't launch Entourage because of the error message,
just open either Word, Excel or PowerPoint and click on Help>Check for
Updates.

No Office application can be open when you upgrade. I suggest launching
Update under the Help menu
