Entourage won't accept a second Hotmail account

Pravda

Hi...

OK.. I have a hotmail account already set up and functioning as well as
hotmail ever functions.... Now I have tried to add a second account,
different name (corporate), and I set it up as usual but get an error
message when verifying... I click back and the only highlighted area is
my name... not marked red or asterix'd just highlighted... if I click
continue or try and not verify, I get an error message when I click the
Send and Receive button telling me I need a Premium service....
Needless to say it won't access the second account...

Any ideas????

Entourage 2004, MAC PB G4 17", OS 10.3.9, DSL wireless connection
(multiple accounts and locations...)

Also... does anyone know how to make it automatically receive new
emails when they hit the hotmail box if I'm connected? So that I can be
working running Entourage in the background and hear a chime when
there's mail??????

Thanks

Microsoft have revised their Hotmail policies: according to them, a number
of people have used Hotmail accounts together with e-mail clients such as
Outlook and Outlook Express to send spam, which is why they decided a couple
of months ago to block the access to Hotmail accounts from within e-mail
clients. However, if you upgrade to Hotmail Plus (i.e.pay $20 per year), you
will be able to use Entourage to access your MSN e-mail accounts.

There are a number of accounts (mostly older ones) which can still be
accessed from Entourage, and from what it looks like, your first account is
one of those, which explains why you can still use that one but are not able
to use the second, newer one. So, unless you're willing to upgrade your
second account to Hotmail Plus, there's no way of getting it to work in
Entourage, or any other e-mail client, for that matter.

To make Entourage check your inbox at regular intervals, you'll have to set
up a schedule (Tools>Run Schedule>Edit Schedules). For the "When" condition,
select a regular interval, no less than 10 minutes (making Entourage check
your Hotmail account too often may cause some problems, such as the server
becoming unavailable, so simply don't do it), and select "receive mail" from
your Hotmail account in the lower part of the window.

Alternatively, you could use Microsoft Messenger (or MSN Messenger), which
will notify you instantly when a new message arrives.
