Entourage won't even open anymore and calendar is lost.

Dear all, I checked the sync with ical option under sync services and now as a result, I can't even open entourage, It keeps coming up as'cannot open the item due to an error' and I keep getting the window 'microsoft error reporting' with the option of restart microsoft database baemon' I've cut and pasted what I find in the more info section below. Any help would be most appreciated as I cannot lose my calendar.

Obviously it's the database daemon that's crashing.
Your database might be corrupted. You can try launching Entourage
pressing the Option key down to rebuild it and see if it helps,
