Entourage could not be launched because of a shared library error:
<Microsoft Entourage> StuffitEngineSDKLib>

I just purchased an iMac 20inch and transferred my Mac Mini files to it.

Office X if I remember correctly installed a version of the Stuffit engine.
It sounds like not all files were transferred.

The solutions for shared library can be found here, but the stuffitengine is
not listed.

Unless you have upgraded to Leopard, I would run the latest Tiger Combo
updater to see if that will fix the problem. You might need to use "Remove
Office" and reinstall Office. It's IMPORTANT to update. Entourage will not
open until it's updated because of a change to the database after the
initial CD version was realeased.

Mactopia Downloads

You need to get these updaters:

11.3.5 combo
11.3.6 requires 11.3.5 to be installed
11.3.7 requires 11.3.6 to be installed
11.3.8 requires 11.3.7 to be installed

Run the combo updater from Apple again rather than using Software Update.
Doing so overwrites potentially problem-causing files. Combo updaters will
install on the same version as they¹re applying‹no need to roll back or do a
clean install.

Mac OS X 10.4.10 Combo Update (PPC)

Restart and Repair Permissions.

Using Repair Permissions after installing MS Office or any application that
uses an installer is often advised. To use Repair Permissions:
1. Open Disk Utility in your Applications/Utility folder.
2. Click on the First Aid tab and select Repair Permissions
3. Click on the icon for your boot volume.
4. Click the repair permissions button.

Don't run from CD. Updates contain a newer versions of the application's
permissions.

I had previously installed the updaters.

Problem fixed by re-installing StuffIt.

Thanks,

I have the identical problem. Did the same things... Uninstalled Office 04 and installed it (did both 3 times!). Reinstalled Leopard from my original DVD and ran the update. Reinstalled Office 04 and ran the updates. All the other Office programs launch. Entourage will not complete launching. I only have the free version of Stuffit 12, and have removed and installed it repeatedly. What else can we do? If the computer wants "StuffitEngineSDKLib", how can we get it and where would we need to put it?

Thanks a bunch!
