entourage won't start

Entourage will not start. My owner name that's in the Entourage logo
that
you click on to start it has become mysteriously garbled. It's now
three
letters, each on a different line!! When I try to start Entourage the
error
message is: "This identity cannot be opened with this version of
Entourage".
Could this be because my name has become garbled? Or something else?
I
completely reinstalled Entourage from Microsoft's disk and the name
remained
garbled!! Help.

My guess is that there are two different issues. First of all, you need to
update your copy of Microsoft Office; the error message you are getting
shows that your database has been modified by a newer version of Entourage,
so it cannot be opened by your older version. Once you have updated Office
(to do that, launch Word, Excel or PowerPoint and choose Help>Check for
updates), see if the garbled text is still there, then post back with as
many details as possible: which version of Entourage are you using, when did
you first notice this error etc. Also, if you could upload screenshots, it
might be easier for one of us to identify the problem.

Adding to Michel's advice....

Quit Entourage. Delete these files in Users/[YourUserName]/Library/Caches.
Restart Entourage.

tasmanbrowser.cache
