Actually I noticed that since I Office Update install a "critical" update not too long ago. Nothing in Office will run. I always get an error message about a "Problem with the Office Dataabase"

Since you have an Exchange account, it's best to create a new Identity
rather than trying to rebuild. Under About Entourage select create new
Identity. Enter your account info and let Entourage sync back up to your
server.

Also check your Startup Items in System Preferences. Make sure you have only
one Microsoft Database daemon. If you have more than one, delete all and
Entourage will create a new one.

Same problem and error mesage; same OS (10.5.6); Entourage 2008 10.1.5; MacBook Pro 2.53 GHz Intel core 2 Duo:

Temporary fix: prior to reading this post: start Mac Mail, start File-Import-Entourage: once mail reads entourage mailboxes for import, entourage would start !

Permanent (?) Fix: after reading this post. Created new identity, imported from entourage 2004 back up identity; then, updated mailboxes from damaged identity by: switched back to damaged identity, dragged mailboxes to desktop; switched again to new identity, dragged mailboxes from desktop to entourage then dragged latest messages to corresponding mailboxes in entourage...

Did you have Entourage delete after exporting from Entourage?
