Entourage X: Export Selected Contacts?

J

John Reynolds

Hello,

I have been using Entourage X roughly since it came out. My address book
has grown quite a bit over the years (almost 1000 contacts). Although I
have set up categories to organize my address book, I have not found a way
to deal with subsets of my address book. I am able to export all of my
contacts and import them into into a database. However, I have not been
able to export contacts from only one (or 2, or 3,...) category, e.g. 100
out of my 1000 addresses, to a file for import into a database. Another
example is when I use Word & Data Merge to create a mailing list (to print
mailing labels) from addresses stored in Entourage. I can create a mailing
list for all of my Entourage contacts but I have not been able to just
select one category as the source data for my mailing list/labels.

I understand that Entourage X stores all emails, contacts, calendar, tasks
for each identity in one file. Maybe I should have set up new identities to
deal with subsets of information.

I would appreciate any help in dealing with this matter.

You can do it with my scripts Export-Import Entourage X, from

MacScripter.net <http://macscripter.net/scriptbuilders/>

Yes you can. When you get to the end of the Data Merge Manager click the
Query button. You can then select by category.

Not necessary. Make Custom Views.
I would appreciate any help in dealing with this matter.
