Eeeeewwwww.... *Now* we have a problem...
Sorry about this, this is going to get "ugly"... And it's partly my fault ‹
I should have picked up immediately on the fact that this is a new computer
with an old version of Office on it...
The next thing to do is to ensure you have all the p updates applied, right
up to the latest one (you haven't told us the versions of your software, so
I'm struggling a little here...)
First make sure you have applied ALL the Apple updates. Then you need to
apply Microsoft update 10.1.9 from the Microsoft website. I assume you
re-installed from the CD to put Office X on your new computer?
If you did, then it has no updates at all, and that's the reason it's
crashing. Apply the Microsoft update and it should come right.
If, on the other hand, you copied it across from your old computer, then
Microsoft Office and the Computer are now completely out of Synch. You
would be better off to:
1) Make a copy of your Microsoft User Data Folder (in case of acidents)
2) run the Remove Office tool (twice to make sure it gets both versions,
including the test drive) then
3) perform a drag-and-drop install of Office X from the CD, then
4) run the 10.1.9 updater.
I would perform a database rebuild again, once you get Entourage to start.
Might as well get the database as clean as possible.
Hope this helps
Right you are - typical AND advanced rebuilds failed. Now what?
