Please describe the symptoms more fully - what sort of accounts do you have?
What are the symptoms of "losing all your emails"?

Database file is empty - all settings are deleted from the program and
I get the Entourage welcome message mail and nothing else. I lose my
address book also! It seems that it looks like its reinstalling the
program every time I reboot the computer!

I installed Acrobat Standard. After I did, I have PDFMaker buttons that
appear whenever I open word or excel. There are two of them and they open
underneath whatever tool bars are there. They move the document down about
3/8 of an inch. I do not use them because it is much quicker to print to
pdf.

I can get rid of them each time but I want them to not be there when I
launch the program.

How do I do it?

Two files need to be deleted while Word isn't running:

UserName/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/PDFMaker and

Applications/Microsoft Office 2004/PDFMakerLib

The next time you launch Acrobat (so you might as well get it over with) it
will warn you that something(s) needs to be repaired. Remove the check for
PDFMaker - otherwise it will recreate the files & the pesky toolbar will be
back.

Empty the Trash & it wouldn't hurt to Repair Disk Permissions.

Good Evening, John -

I've found that Acro 7 doesn't seem to be as sinister as 6 was. Even with
the files left in the respective Startup folders (although they should still
be removed), upon removal of the lib & prefs files the toolbugger is
dissuaded with with no apparent repercussions in any of the Office or CS2
apps... And there seems to be no longer a need for the 'dummy' folders.

I never found any reason to upgrade to 7, so of course I didn't assume
the OP was using 7 either. Thanks for the info.

Thanks for the help.

I am using 7 which came with my ScanSnap scanner [a great machine]. I
removed the two files and repaired permissions.

Everything has been fine. Acrobat did not tell me that there was a
discrepancy when I launched it.
