I'm running Entourage with Mac OS 10.4. Get a message when launching the
program that a script is attempting to run, but it doesn't identify the
script. How do I find the script to disable it once and for all?
If a script is attempting to run by itself, it MUST be being run from a
Schedule which is set to run At Startup. o go to Tools/Schedules, open each
one, and see which one(s) run At Startup and have the action "Run
AppleScript". You'll see immediately which script is set to run, but it
doesn't matter in the first case. You can just disable the action.
However, if you _want_ the script to run (perhaps it's SpamSieve's script?),
be aware that you're simply hitting the security feature that you need to
allow scripts that access your address book or send mail. You can find those
preferences in Entourage/Preferences/Security. Enable them. It's no big
deal.
Be aware to NO script will run that haven't set to run. If you want it to
run, enable those security preferences.
I expect it must be SpamSieve, or something like it, that you weren't aware
actually runs a script. Since you want it to work, enable the pref (which
you could have done from the warning message, too).
