entourage

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel
Email Client: pop

We had a student version of officemac 2008, I installed a new copy of the Officemac 2008 Special Media Edition. Now I cannot launch entourage. I get a message "The Rules file appear corrupt. Rules cannot be used". How do I launch entourage and get at my emails?

Thanks.

The rules should be the same beteween the two versions. They might
indeed be corrupted though so you might want to try to launch ENtourage
pressing the shift key down to get to the database assistant and attempt
to fix your database.

Actually, at least on Leopard, you need to launch while holding the
Option key.

Actually, the answer to this issue (if it is a real answer, and not a
"too bad" approach, in that your rules seem to be hosed) is located in
this KB article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/810850
