Under applications/microsoft/office/additonal tools you'll see a
command to remove office. Just run that then restart you Mac.

You didn't really say why office was a foolish move. If you don't need
it though that makes sense. Office itself just sitting on your Mac
should cause you no problems. Using it might LOL!

My immediate problem is that I have several e-mail addresses and when I respond to an e-mail or posting on some wed site, I want to choose which address I want my response to come from. Can't figure out how to do it in entourage. It's a cinch in Safari.

Thanks; however, I don't want to remove office. I use word and excel, in my limited way, without too many problems. My immediate problem is that I have several e-mail addresses and when I respond to an e-mail or posting on some wed site, I want to choose which address I want my response to come from. Can't figure out how to do it in entourage. It's a cinch in Safari.

So, all I want to do is stop entourage from poking it's nose in when I don'd want it to. If necessary, I'll dump my drive onto DVD, reformat the drive and install OSX, etc, from the ground up. That's what I did to get rid of Foxfire or Firefox or whatever they call it plus all the add-ons. I'd rather not go through that boring task again.

Here's an idea for you, if you're up to it. Add a new key named "DWIM" to the keyboard. DWIM stands for "Do What I Mean" and is used when your frustration threshold is penetrated. Damned machine should have enough smarts to figure out what you've been trying to do AND JUST DO IT!!!!!!!

Hi.
Thanks; however, I don't want to remove office. I use word and excel, in my

Can't figure out how to do it in entourage. It's a cinch in Safari.

That can be done in Entourage, too, and it is quite easy, actually. If you
really want to give Entourage a try, post back, and you'll be given detailed
instructions on how to achieve what you have just described.
So, all I want to do is stop entourage from poking it's nose in when I don'd

It might be a bad idea to delete Entourage, as it may interfere with future
updates to the entire Office suite. My advice: just leave it on your hard
disk, and you'll never even notice it's there. When exactly does Entourage
"poke its nose"? Are you talking about how it opens up and creates a new
mail message when you click on an e-mail address in Safari? If so, then this
is because Entourage has been defined as your default e-mail application.
You can change the default application in Mail's preferences section, so
once you've made that change, you should not notice Entourage again.

Perhaps the OP is talking about the My Day app.
I believe that My Day starts up automatically when the user logs in.
It looks a little like Entourage in terms of color scheme, so perhaps
the OP is confusing My Day with Entourage.

My Day can be disabled from the My Day Preferences,
if that's what you're after. Simply uncheck the "Open after
computer logon" box and click OK.

That sounds interesting, how do I do it? Please keep in mind that I'm computer challenged. If it were up to me. all computers would be destroyed (right after we burned all copies of The Profit).

Thanks,

By default Entourage will use your default email account when you create a
new message.

By default, Entourage will reply to a message with the address that received
the message.

You can set all messages to reply using the default account. It's in
Entourage Preferences > Reply and Forward.

Otherwise you select the account from the message window. There is a "From"
popup right above the To line that allows you to select.

I'm a bit confused when you are comparing selecting an email in Safari to
Entourage. One is a web browser and the other an email client. Both have
totally different interfaces.

How to set default account:

Open Accounts under Tools in the Menu bar.

Select the account and click on the "Make Default" icon. The default is
bold.
