Envelope gets a zero

J

Judith M. Spencer

Hi:
Wrote a long letter recently, imbedded the envelope in the document, then
added page numbers to keep the reader from getting confused.
In the page numbering dialogue, I chose no number on the first page. Fine.
All the pages of the letter were appropriately numbered -- nothing on the
salutation page, 2 & 3 on the subsequent. BUT at the center, top of the
envelope there appeared a "0". Try as I might, I couldn't get rid of it.
Wound up whiting it out on the actual envelope.
Any cure for this?

An envelope is section 1. If you have "Different first page" enabled for
section 2 (the letter) but not for section 1, then you're going to get just
an ordinary Header in section 1, and that will contain a page number unless
you unlink the section 2 header before adding the PAGE field.
