envelope mail merge template receipient in wrong place

Sometimes when I use the Envelope mail merge template and
click on Address block a window opens in the appropriate
place and match fields work well. Other times when I
open the Address block the merge field appears somewhere
else on the envelope. What am I doing wrong? I want the
address box to be placed where the receipient address
should go.

Hi Vivian,

This is Word 2002, right?

Before you insert the addresses, click "in the middle" of
the envelope. You should then see a slash-mark frame appear?
Now insert the address block.
