Envelope Options in Mail Merge

On step 2 of an envelope mail merge, if I click on Envelope Options and
change the Return Address From Left and From Top values from Auto to some
other value such as 1.5 (from left) and .4 (from top) and then click OK it
does not apply the change. If I click on Envelope Options again it displays
Auto.

What do I need to do to have the Envelope Options settings that I select get
applied?

Make the modification in the next step when the Envelope mail merge main
document is the active document. Save that document as a template if you
want to be able to reuse the modified settings.
