Envelope Text

When using the Envelope Tool, it will carry over the Address from the
letter. How do I keep the style from coming with it.

For example, the document has double spacing in the style, I do not
want this to carry over to the envelope I am printing from the letter.
How do I stop this from happening beside open a blank document and
create an envelope from that.

Hi Jason,

I don't see any way to keep the formatting from coming over from the
document to the envelope since what you're doing in effect is an internal
copy and paste. However, once the address is in the Delivery Address pane
of the Envelope dialog box, you can reformat it there. Won't that do it?

There are specific styles associated with envelope return address and
sending addresses... I feel Jason's pain.

It's crazy for me to take the time to set up the sending address style
as Copperplate 32bc, 12 point, all caps, with one point spacing only to
have to RE-select that in the dialog box if I dare use a style other
than the plain-jane default style.

It's a minor annoyance with Word, but if you do more than a few
envelopes per day, from the document, it becomes a big annoyance.

If you do more than a few envelopes a day, take some time to prepare
your own envelope template and leave Word's alone.
If you do a matching template for the letters, and merge from an Excel
spreadsheet of addresses for both, you get yourself a fairly smooth
workflow. A couple of extra columns in the spreadsheet to add more
criteria, and you have yourself a mailshot utility with envelopes
pretty enough so that people will open the damn things.

I'm not understanding a few things here.

First, if the address in the letter is styled, when you select it and go to
Tools> Envelopes, the address styling will carry over to the Envelope
dialog.

Secondly, if you're going to make several envelopes a day from the same
document, just save the envelope document that is created by the envelope
tool and reuse it.

If neither of these is relevant to your situation, please be more explicit.
