Envelope won't print in center

Word x, OS 10.3.8. hp laserjet 3030. The word envelope wants to print
on the left side of the printer feeder, which is a problem because the
printer only allows the guides to slide together into the center. So I
need to print the envelope in the center.

I can pleainly and easily choose to print in the center by clicking on
"custom" in the envelope dialog box. And it all seems good. But then
it does not in fact print it in the center.

Help!

Hi Joshua,

To help me get a better picture of what's going on...

1. Has this worked correctly for you in the past? If so, have you changed
your hardware configuration at all?
2. Are you using a print driver designed for your printer? or a generic
driver? (Check Tools->Envelope->Page Setup)
3. In the Envelope dialog, under Printing Options, are you selecting "Use
settings from your printer" or "Use custom settings"?
