Envelopes & Labels grayed out

I'm running Word 2002, and in normal.dot my Envelopes and Labels icon is
grayed out. If I open up Tools/Customize, it is not grayed out, but as soon
as I close Customize it grays out again. I have removed it, and replaced it
with a new one, but it remains grayed out. In otehr templates it's fine.

Any ideas? (I've tried Help/Repair and it didn't change anything.)

It could be a minor corruption of the template - rename it oldnormal.dot and
let Word build a new one. If that fixes it, copy your customisations from
old to new using the macro organizer.

Thanks, Graham - that worked.

Interestingly, the same problem recurred - the Envelopes and Labels icon
grayed out. On a hunch, I deleted the Dymo LabelWriter icon (and unchecked
the Dymo add-in), and now the graying-out has stopped. Rude of Dymo, don't
you think?

There are plenty of badly written add-ins. This is another to add to the
list
