Envelopes printing db

C

Cindy

I am using Word 2003 and when I try to print an envelope from a document that
has the address typed in as Single spaced -- the envelope will print double
spaced. I have tried to copy/paste from the main document to a blank
document, then print the envelope - still shows double spaced.

However, if I just type the address in the envelope dialog box - it is
single spaced.

Anyone have any idea how I get can get my envelopes to print single spaced?

Hi Cindy,

Force the envelope to display on the screen ("attach" it to the document). Click
in the address, then look at the left of the "Formatting" toolbar to see the
Style name used. (I believe it should be something like "envelope address".
Probably, the space between the paragraphs is being set by this style.

Click on the A/A button next to the style box in the toolbar to display the
Styles and Formatting task pane. Locate this style in the list, hover the mouse
over it, click the arrow that appears in order to open the context menu, choose
"Modify".

In the dialog box that appears, click the "Format" button, choose "Paragraph"
from the list that appears. Check the settings of the "Space Before" and "Space
After" properties. Set these to 0 if they show something else.

Back in the main "Modify" dialog box, be sure to activate the option that saves
changes to the template so that this will apply to all new documents your create
from the template you're using.
