EPM Database Maintenance Tasks ??

Hi,

As many of you probably know, a while ago Chris Fiessinger blogged on this
subject
(http://blogs.msdn.com/chrisfie/archive/2007/10/25/epm-database-maintenance-tasks.aspx).

In our development environment, we put in place a maintenance plan based on
his recommandation and this maintenance plan takes more than 20 minutes to
run. There is less than 10 projects (each with less than 25 tasks) and no
project workspaces in this dev environment.

How long is it gonna take in a production environment with more than 2000
projects (around 100 tasks each) and 2000 users ?

Has anybody put in place a similar maintenance plan ? How long does the
plan take to execute ?

Thanks a lot for your inputs !

It is going to be dependent on your hardware and configuration. May I suggest
that you scale up your dev environment by adding more projects? That should
give you an idea how things are going to work.

If you really are intending to have 2000 projects (one for each user?) with
100 tasks each, then I think you should probably work with someone with
expertise in this area to size and configure your servers appropriately.

Thanks for the answer,

I meant 2000 ressources, not users, sorry for the confusion !

I will certantly create many many projects and resources and see what
happens.

Thanks again !
