eqn editor/visual basic

I need help resurrecting Equation Editor within Word. I am running a Mac
system 8.5 with Microsoft Office 98. When I am in Word and when I ask to
"Insert Object" the options window is empty. I cannot access Equation
Editor, graphics, or anything else. I have tried to reinstall Word and to
custom install Equation Editor but neither helps. Equation Editor appears to
be installed inside a Shared Applications folder within my Microsoft Office
application.

I don't know if this is relevant but I also get a message when I open Word
that the Visual Basic Editor could not be loaded, there is too little memory
or it is mislocated. Other things work fine but I need to be able to use my
equation editor.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Hi Rheta,

If you did a re-install of Word or Equation Editor then you also need to
re-install the updates. After you do that be sure to rebuild the desktop
file and allocate more RAM to Word using Finder's GetInfo command.
