Equation Editor 3.0 "cant be found"

G

Goran Ekstrom

Hi,
when inserting an equation, the equation editor toolbar is shown OK but when
I later double-click to edit, W2000 reports (roughly translated to english):

"The serverprogram, source file or element can't be found. Make sure the
program is installed properly, it hasn't been removed, moved or renamed"

So I have to re-do the equation from scratch now every time I change it or
is there a better way?

Thanks,
Goran Ekstrom

Hi Goran,

If you've been using Equation Editor in this
copy of Word and you're using Norton System Works/Antivirus
turn off the OfficeAV plugin and update the Norton product
and see if the error goes away.

If you use Insert=>Object and don't see Microsoft Eqution Editor
listed you can add it from your Word or Office listing
in Add/Remove Programs in the Windows Control Panel.

As Bob says, this is most likely the result of a conflict with the Norton
Office Plug-in. See “OFF: Cannot Open Office Documents or Cannot Edit
Inserted Objects After You Install Office XP Service Pack 2 or Office 2000
Service Pack 3” at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=328613

Hi!
Found the info, the only problem is that I have none of Mr. Nortons products
installed on my computer. My virus software is McAfee Virusscan Pro. 7.
