HI,

I seem to have a problem whereby, whenever I try to add a basic symbol like
= in the equation editor I get boxes instead of symbols I tried reinstalling
equation editor 3.0 and no luck. I also have open office, which has the same
font problem and mathcad 6.0 installed.

example:
smx5q1.jpg

MSWord 2003 SP3
XP

When the equation editor is open, click the Style menu and choose Define. In the
dialog, make sure the two Greek styles and the Symbol style are all set to
Symbol font, and the others are set to Times New Roman or some other body font.

Hello,

I checked and they (Greeks) are set to bookhelf symbol 3.
I cannot find a font explicitly called symbol.

I also tried to use the repair function of office. No luck.
Funny thing is the program works fine on my other computer
(no mathematica or mathcad installed there).
Any other suggestions?

Wohhoo!

I found the symbol font set (reinstalled word and it still didn't work at
first) and
dragged it into the font list. It works now; thank you!
