Equation Editor in Office 2007

Hello! Friends:

1. I open a *.doc (prepared in Office2003) in Office2007, the equation
editor in the SYMBOLS ribbon blurred out, as such I cant type any equations,
why?

2. Is MathType V5 compatible with Office 2007?
