Equation Editor incorrectly displays characters

Equation Editor doesn't display the integral sign but an envelope (?)
instead. Have tried reinstalling the MT Extra font and the equation editor
add on from the cd but still doesn't work
Word 2002 (10.2627.2625)
Equation Editor Version 3.1
