I was working in Word 2003, using Equation Editor. EE crashed (pop-up window
to send error report). Now each time I start Word, whether accessing that
file or not, the EE menu (File, Edit, etc) appears above the Word menus.
Does anyone know why and how to remove it?

"No" to both of your questions. However, if you can give me some more
information, I'll see if I can find an answer for you...

1. When the error occurs, I'm assuming Word's toolbars are not
visible. Is this correct?

2. Just to verify they are indeed EE menus (since the 2 menus you
mentioned are also the names of 2 of Word's menus), are the two menus
immediately to the left of the Window menu labeled "Style" and "Size"?

3. If you're using Windows XP, press the keystroke combination Ctrl +
Alt + Delete. (If you're not using WinXP, try the Shift + Ctrl + Esc
combination.) This will bring up the Windows Task Manager. Click the
Processes tab, and click the Image Name heading. Scroll through the
list to see if EQNEDT32.EXE is listed. Is it? If it's listed, click
once on it, then click "End Process", and answer "Yes" to the message
that pops up. What happens next?

It was indeed the EE menu and it was above all of the the Word menus kind of
like in Outlook. When I clicked Help, it gave me "About Equation Editor."
It was like the standard menu on any MS product. Fortunately, after a system
reboot, the menu didn't come back.

As for the events, I was trying to edit an equation I had already entered
into the Word document when the window popped up asking if I wanted to send
the error report. There was no "offical error" -- just the window.

Anyway, thanks for the reply. Oh, and I run XP Home Ed.

Ctrl+Alt+Delete opens the Task Manager in Windows 2000 as well (and I think
it did in Windows 95, too).
