Equation Editor Problems under Panther

C

ChiRaven

I installed Panther last night (GREAT, BTW) but now for
some reason my equation editor doesn't work properly. When
I go to close the equation editor to transfer the equation
to my Word document, the box is blank. The equation is
apparently still there (if I double click inside the
equation box in the Word document, equation Editor re-opens
with its results still there), but I can't make it visible
or print it in the Word document.

Any ideas?

Hi

I'd start with something quick and easy to do. Run Disk Utility First Aid
and repair permissions. Please post back with the results.

Well, I repaired the permissions. Most of the hits I got
were for things like icons in iTunes. BUT, the original
problem is still with me. I'm trying to type a simple
algebraic fractional equation and it just won't show up.

The interesting thing is that the problem ONLY happens when
I try to use a superscript (like, x-squared) in a
denominator. Using it in the numerator of the fraction is
OK, and not using it in the denominator (substituting
something like x.x) is still OK, but when I put the darned
superscript into the denominator I get nothing.

Any more ideas?

Wow!

I'll be putting panther onto my computer in the next few days (just got the
box home - kewl black thing and nice manual inside, too). I'll give it a try
when I can. It sounds like a bug, though.

Hi

I got my Panther CDs, but still haven't installed. Be sure to let Microsoft
know of the problem by using Feedback from the Help menu. They're not likely
to see your posting here in the newsgroup.
