Equation Editor "Structures" blank and non fuctional

I have a Vista-64 machine with Office/Word 2007, and the Equation Editor
Structures are non-functional. When I insert an equation and click one of
the Structures (Fraction, Script, Radical etc) all the option boxes on the
drop-down menu are blank and empty. If I click on them, nothing is inserted
in my equation.

However equations display normally, and I can enter text and Symbols
(plus-minus, infinity, not-equal etc) into them. I can even enter complete
example equations (Area of Circle, Binomial Theorem etc) using the "equation"
menu.

I have another Vista-64 machine with Word 2007 installed and it does not
have this problem. With that machine the "structures" menus work, and I can
enter complete complex equations.

I tried unistall, reboot, reinstall. I ran the diagnostics on the "Word
Options" menu. (found a problem and fixed it, according to the summary, but
it didn't help this problem). Tried opening various documents, rebooted,
etc.

The problem machine has three monitors (8 Mpixels). The working machine has
one monitor. Both machines have pretty much the same software.

I've searched the internet, and this forum, and can find no one with the
same problem.

Please Help!

Hi Gene,

It may be a display driver issue. Have you checked for & installed the latest drivers for your video card(s)?

Hi macropod,

I have two NVidia 8600 GTS boards installed. I just picked up the latest
driver from NVidia, and installed it. No help.

I de-configured two of my three screens, and rebooted that way. No help.

Very good suggestion, but unfortunately it didn't help.
