Equation Editor

I'm having problems with the Equation Editor on a G4 Powerbook running OS X
and Office X. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Office a number of times.
I've tried installing Equation Editor from the Extras section of the CDs. EE
works in Excel but doesn't appear in Word. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Mark

Try trashing the Carbon Registration Database
~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Carbon Registration Database

This preference file stores the location of all the different components
of Office. If it becomes corrupted, the application loose track of these
components. Th file will be re-created the next time you launch Office
and the Ewquation Editor should come back.

PS: You wouldn't happen to have your user folder on a a different volume
than the boot volume by any chance ???

Also, I don't think it's installed by default ... you need to install it from
the Value pack folder on the CD.

I'm glad I read this thread ... I never even noticed I didn't have the
Equation Editor. But when I tried to install it, I got a message that "the
default location required for this install could not be found. This install
will be cancelled."

I'm going to start a fresh thread on this.

Whoops, never mind what I said about you need to install if from the Value
Pack. I missed where you said you tried to install it.

Boy do I need some rest. I was trying to install from the the OS 9 Office CD.
I installed EE from the v.X CD and all is well.
