Equation Editor

Can anyone help me figure out how to get my Equation
Editor back? In the process of editing an equation in
Word, an error message came up and said that equation
editor would have to close. Now anytime I try to utilize
this tool, it says that Equation Editor is not installed
and gives me the option to install. Yet when I try to
install, it says it's not available from that network. I
am not very computer literate and it seems like this tool
just "disappeared!"

What version of Office are you using?

How was Office installed? Did it come preinstalled?

Are you prompted for your installation CD?

Are you on a network?
