When opening creating a document with MS Equation 3.0 object, math symbols
are not displayed correctly within the text. They are displayed correctly
inside of the editor window. MT Extra font has been installed. Please help.
I have a ton of papers to write.

I can't answer your actual question but I doubt that I would use
MS Word to write mathematical papers. You don't need to go as
far as using Latex (can't ever remember the capitalization) but
that is not a bad idea if you are really serious.

Please tell us which version of Word you're including the equations in, and
what exactly "not displayed correctly within the text" means. Remember, we
can't see what you're looking at there.

I'm using Word part Office Pro 2003. The Equation objects are displayed as
some flowery symbols similar to Windings font, but i"m not sure if it is
actually is that font. Also I checked the font style settings in the editor
and they are set as follows. UC and LC Greek and symbol are are set as
Symbol, everything else is Times New Roman.
