Equation numbering in Word X

Currently I use Insert Caption and then pick Equation from the list. The
problem is equation numbers appear as Equation 1, Equation 2 etc. in the
document. What I want is just (1), (2), etc. I don't want the word Equation
anywhere.

Hi Bijan,

Try creating a New Label and make simply the left parenthesis (

When you insert the label press Space and then the right parentheses ) and
you'll get an effect that might be close enough to meet your needs.
