Equation numbering macro?

Does anyone know of an available macro to handle the inserting and numbering
of scientific equations?
I need to have the equation centered with a right justified number.

Any help on automating this would be appreciated.

Probably don't need a macro. Create a two column, one row borderless table,
with column 1 having most of the width of the page and column 2 being just
wide enough for the numbers. Insert a seq field in the number cell and a
simple equation (1 = 1) in the first cell with the alignment set to centre.
Then select the table and create an autotext entry of it. Then whenever you
want to insert an equation, insert the autotext and click on and edit the
equation so that it becomes what you want.

I need to automate this as much as possible as it is for a number of users
with different skill levels.
Would autotext be the next means of doing this?

You can easily record a macro of the action of inserting the autotext.
