I am working on a document with equations generated with the equation editor (in Word 2008). When I closed and reopened the document, the equations were converted to pictures and now I cannot edit them or convert them back to equations. I found some cryptic discussion online about resetting or restoring pictures, but when I do that, it doesn't help.
How do I convert the pictures back to editable equations and how do I keep this from happening in the future?
