Equations in Word

Hi, I wanted to insert equation into Word document. Did insert>object but
there's no option MS equation editor, althought I found this process
described in Help. Appreciate any help. Running Mac Office 2004 on Tiger.

Hi,

Equation Editor might not be installed on your system. I don't think it gets
installed when you perform a standard install, so you'll have to run the
installer again, do a custom install and check only the Equation Editor from
the list of available Office components. Also, make sure no Office programs
are running when you perform the installation. After that, you should be
able to use the editor, it's an entry called Microsoft Equation in the
Insert>Object dialogue.

Hi little_creature,

You can also create equations via Insert|Field and choosing the EQ field
type. This will give you access to much the same range of equations as you
can generate via the Equation Editor (though the coding syntax is often more
difficult to work out) and more formatting options.
