erase gridlines from inserted excel table in ms word

How do erase the gridlines (or make it so that they don't print) from an
inserted excel table (not a regular word table, these are not the same) that
is inserted into a word document. Please don't tell me about borders. This
is not a border issue. It's the gray faded gridlines. They weren't printing
and now they are, for no apparent reason. I have XP 2003, MS Word 2007.

This can only be done within the source Excel file itself.
Either turnoff View Gridlines (or whatever the equivalent 2007 command is)
under Tools Options or for the specific range colour the Gridlines White (or
whatever colour you need to make them disappear.
Then reinsert into Word.

Hi Dean,

Excel 2007 has two gridline settings -
.. view
.. print
The OP only needs to make sure the 'print' option (on the 'Page Layout' Ribbon) is turned off.
