Hi,
There is no any specific tool in visio, like erase of mspaint.
But couple of things you may use as a workaround or probable steps to adopt.
1) If you draw a rectangle with the help of rectangle tool, you can remove
the physical outline of this object. This can be done with the help of
pencil tool.
( select the rectangle tool and mark it with the pencil tool, start point
and second point. You need to hold the shift button while marking the
second point. After marking the portion, you wanted to delete, press delete
button. This will only deleted the portion/outline physically only.)
2) This is possible in the case of a combination of 2 objects. Like
removing the common portion of the 2 objects etc.
To do this you can use Shape-->Operations and then use intersect, combine,
union etc.
