Erasing part of line or object

Hi

Could someone advice if it is possible to draw a line on the slide and then
erase a small part of it somewhere in the middle of the line?? (Just as we
can on the paint).

Not really but you could insert a small shape in the area to "delete" and set
its fill to either the background colour or "slide background"
