Hello,
Help I've been trying to install office 2003 into my computer
how ever I've been getting the following error:

Error 1402. Setup cannot open the registry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run\optionalcomponents\msfs.

any fix for the above?

please let me know

Hi,
Try the following steps. The error occurs when there is no sufficient
permission in that key to install Office 2003.

Try to add permission to the following registry key in the system registry
to install Office 2003 as follows:

Goto Start>Run> 'regedit' and click 'Ok'
Browse through the folders as in the error message:-
Right click on the "HKLM\software\microsoft\windows\current
version\run\optional components\msfs" key(or the key specified) and click
Permissions,
Click on Add-> Advanced and then click on Find now. Select Everyone.click OK
..click
OK again.
Highlight "Everyone" and allow full control.

Restart the computer .
- Try to re-install Office 2003.
