ERORR MESSAGE

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)

I recently updated my Microsoft Office 2004 to version 11.5.3.
However, since I did this, there is one excel file I'm not able to open. It sends an error message saying"unable to read file"...
What can I do? How do I fix this? This is a very important file....

First- does it do this when you use File/Open as well as when you
double-click on the file in Finder?

Assuming it does, it appears that the file has become corrupt.

If you have access to Windows XL03 or XL07, they're more capable of
recovering corrupted files.

If not, I've had success using OpenOffice.org to read "corrupt" files.
