Erratic Behavior in Word 2002

Pam

This is a followup message re:Strange things happening in
Word 2002. I responded to the reply from Suzanne, but
have not received a response, so I'm sending this again.
My problem is two-fold:
1) menus drop down, files open, Find dialog, etc.
activate without my pointing to them.
2) random words appear at cursor (ex. new knew the new he
a man of but and a...).

Suzanne asked if I had Speech Recognition enabled. I
replied that it is not enabled. Does anyone have any
other ideas? The problem is driving me crazy!

Thanks!

Are you in an office, and using a wireless keyboard or wireless mouse? If
so, is it possible that somebody else's keyboard or mouse is accidentally
activating your system?

If not, then I'd check again to see if speech is turned on. Choose Tools,
and see if Speech is checked. If it is, then that's likely the problem.

Good thought. I've had this sort of problem, even without wireless
peripherals, as a result of interference from my husband's ham radio.

Herb,

Thanks for your reply. I have rechecked my Speech
setting under Tools and it is not checked. Also, I work
at home and I do not have any wireless equipment.
Neither do we have a ham radio or other device that would
cause interference. Also, the problem occurs in other
locations. Any other ideas? Thanks!

I'm witnessing the same problem and haven't been able to find the
source. Any news on this?
