erratic reciepts

I like to send email with a delivery - not a read - reciept yet recently I
have been getting ,ixed results. In fact I rarely get a recipt now. I have
triple checked my settings and configuration. Is is possible that not every
server will return a reciept ? Anything I am missing ? TIA.

Many mail servers do not return receipts and many can be configured to not return receipts. Mine is so configured.
