Hi all;
This has been covered in some older threads but my problem is persistent. I
am using XP and Outlook 2003. I recently got a virus and had to format the
drive. The email isn't going so well. I can get it fine at the ISP and all
of the other internet functions seem fine. I got some help with this from a
friend who installed some freeware virus protection programs when he got the
computer back up.
At any rate, I am getting the error message in the subject field for both
the pop and smtp functions. Both of the anti-virus programs are currently
disabled but I still get the messages. FWIW, Outlook Express is also
installed but I selected the Office Outlook as the default email program.
The pop and smtp addresses are correct as per the ISP. Neither requires a
password or encryption so none of those boxes are checked.
Has anyone got a clue what could be wrong? Thanks, sh
