Error 0x80070002 on running LISTool Office 2003 Pro

My Office 2003 does not update on MS Office update site, saying that
it could not check for the needed updates. It used to work OK, just
recently it stopped doing it.

I tried running the LISTool, it gives error 0x80070002 and asks to
contact MS. I remember though not exactly, I had similar problem
before with the Office 2003 SP1, at that time MS advised me to
manually enter something into registry because somehow the reference
to the location of Local Installation Source was lost from the
registry causing the error and being unable to update online, it did
solve the problem at that point. I cannot find that advice from MS
anywhere in my records.

Anyone happens to know the solution.
