Error (0x80070057) Could not complete operation...

I am suddenly unable to send emails (although I can still receive them). The
error I get is "Error (0x80070057) Could not complete operation. One or more
parameter values are not valid". There are a number of links to websites that
offer a Registry clean-up to solve this problem but I would hope that
Microsoft has a solution to what appears (from issues logged over the
internet by others) to be quite a common problem.

If you have been reading up on this issue experienced by others, you should
know to please post your version of Outlook and include your type of mail
account. How troubleshooting is handled would depend alot on that
information.
