Error 1028: project does not exist (project server 2007)

Hi,

customer starts pwa, project center. When they select 1 specific project to
edit in Project Pro the following error message appears:
project server was unable to find the specified project, the project was not
found on project server. (err. 1028: project does not exists)

The project properties page for this same project can be opened in pwa and
published.
The same project can be opened in Project Pro and published, no error
messages.

This is the only project that shows this behaviour.

Can anyone shed a light on what goes wrong here?
