Error 1301 in German Visio

Inge

Hi,
Hope that someone in Microsoft reads this message.
We use Custom Shapes and Templates in Visio 2003.
One colleague has a German Version of Visio 2003 Professional.

He receives the following German message when dragging a shape to the
drawing page. The drag action can't succesfully be finished.

----Message starts here -----
Fehler (1301) während der Aktion Auf Zeichenblatt ablegen.
Der Name 'Standard' ist ein reservierter Name des Systems. Bitte geben Sie
einen Namen an.
----End of Message ------

I'm not Microsoft but...
What are the names of your Custom properties?
Do you know the difference between Name and NameU ?
Are you using a custom add-in?
Perhaps you used a reserved word as the name of a master? (for example,
Standard?)

I've just created a master called Standard (the Name and NameU are
both set to this). Seems to work OK.
Are there other reserved names for masters?

I was just guessing that Standard is reserved.
Certainly Page is a reserved word that cannot be used as a custom property
name.

Sheet is a reserved name for masters, if you try to rename a shape to
Sheet then Visio just immediately renames the shape as Master.n - no
error message. Are there perhaps other reserved words in the other
language version. Are the reserved words different in the different
language versions? Can a shape be created in the English version with
a name that is reserved in German?

Hi, we use the string "Standard" only as actions, nothing else.
We know the difference between Name and NameU.
The funny thing is that we don't have a problem with English Versions of
Visio.
Removing the word "Standard" from the actions doesn't help.

What are custom add-ins? We are not aware of using them.

What is the full definition of the custom propery "Standard". Punctuation
and list sperates are different in German and that may be the issue.

John... Visio MVP

For example:
Actions: Actions.Standard
Action: RUNADDON("SVP_setState_RadioButton(""Standard"")")
Menu: "Standard"

HI Inge,

interesting Problem: What exactly do you try to do ?
Where is the phrase "Standard" used ?

Hi Senaj,
We create custom shapes uses ShapeSheets and VBA. These shapes are used by
designers to create UI mockups.
Designers can switch the look of a shape with the right-click menu. For
example, they can switch a shape from looking enabled to disabled.
In this context we sometimes use the word "Standard" in the ShapeSheet, for
example, here:

Actions: Actions.Standard
Action: RUNADDON("SVP_setState_RadioButton(""Standard"")")
Menu: "Standard"

What are the formulae used to do the enable/disable actions?
(and any other menus)?

Hi All,
We found the problem.
The technical name "Actions.Standard" really isn't allowed in the Actiions
section of the ShapeSheet

We changed to "Actions.Standard1". This solved the problem

Why the hell does it work in the English version of Visio 2003
Professional????
Why the hell is this not documented as reserved word???? I did not find any
clue in the MS documentation.

It would be useful beyond belief to have a list of reserved words in
all the different Visio language variants.
