Error 1304 - installing Personal Folders Backup Tool

John

I purchased Outlook 2003 and installed it on my WIN XP
machine.

When I install the add-on personal folders backup tool
(definately 2003 version) I get an error 1304 - cannot
write to G:/PROG../MICROSO../OFFICE11/backaapl.exe

I assume it's OK to have Outlook and Office installed on
the G drive instead of the C drive. I tried changing the
read permissions to write permission for OFFICE11 - no go.

I installed the video update with no problems. Any ideas
anyone?

I'll post this in case others run into the same problem.
I decided that the "G" drive installation was probably
the source of my difficulties so I uninstalled Outlook
2003 from the "G" drive and reinstalled it on the "C"
drive. Before I did so I copied down my account settings
and exported the few messages that I had stored. My "G"
drive is a striped array (80GB). This may also be a
factor. The objective was to speed up the loading of my
applications as much as possible. Ah well - it's pretty
fast now and I like 2003 Outlook much more than its
predecessors.

Outlook came back up with all setting and mail intact
(GREAT!!). I was able to install the two plug-ins without
a problem (Also GREAT!!). I have not moved the rest of
the Office apps as yet but that may also have to happen
if I run into a similar problem with the other apps.
